Great News! The IRA Charitable Rollover Passed!
Congress extended an excellent charitable planning opportunity for both 2008 and 2009. This act permits an IRA owner age 70½ or older to make a direct transfer to charity.
What does this mean?
If you are over the age of 70 ½ , you can make and "over and above" charitable gift from your IRA up to $100,000 this year. Since this IRA rollover is not included in your income, the gift will be tax-free and have no impact on your regular charitable gifts. For more information, please contact the UNI Foundation-Planned Giving at 319-273-6078.
